Go time

Located in a highly visible place along the Ames Avenue corridor, this project will revitalize the physical infrastructure of the area without demolishing any residential homes or using eminent domain. Combined with North High, Skinner Elementary and the Butler-Gast YMCA, this project is sure to become a hub of daily life around education, health, wellness and athletics.

Sharing the excitement

Our community members can’t contain their enthusiasm for Project Game ON!

“This helps us be able to create a culture really centered here in North Omaha’s community.”
Christopher Humphries
North High principal
“I tell you what, I’m just on cloud nine right now with all of the good things that are happening. North High School is going to continue to be part of that. For the students, parents and the community leaders, it’s just awesome.”
Gene Haynes
North High former principal
“The new building is going to mean a lot for the community. I can just imagine all the other activities that they're going to be able to add and bring in new faces and new things, just to uplift everyone. It'll be a very uplifting experience for everyone.”
William Metoyer
Butler-Gast YMCA member
“My mom and dad went here, and they both talked about how they wished there was a stadium here, and now we get one.”
Skylar Linstrom
North High student and soccer player
“It’ll be nice to have more of a home game experience … to me, that creates a heck of an experience for folks that are in the community that are able to just walk up. I think that’s big and creates a huge advantage.”
Eric Johnson
North High assistant principal and athletic director
“I actually work out at this Y, so I'm excited for a new and improved Y.”
Barrett Push
North High student and football player
“I'm just happy about the new progress that's going to take place. This community needs all these things, and I hope it extends out to the rest of the city to see what we're going to be doing, that they will do the same thing at their Ys and their schools and everything to share the love.”
Constance “Connie” Carr
Butler-Gast YMCA member
“North High students deserve this facility, they’ll use this facility and there is going to be great success coming from it.”
Matthew Ray
Omaha Public Schools superintendent
“I think it'll mean a lot … to just be able to stay at the school and go down the hill and watch us play. I think it will be good for us to not have to get on the bus and just be able to feel the environment of our actual home stadium and not somebody else's.”
Dominic Yancy
North High student and football player
“It’s going to be really nice just sitting in the bleachers, talking to your friends in band, playing in the bleachers, maybe getting the crowd hyped up, where you’re stomping on the bleachers. It’s going to be a really fun time.”
Mason Carne
North High student and band member
“It really, really, really means a lot to me … This will be 30 years we've been in this building, and so we are long time overdue for some new things. And the members often tell me that they want more things than what we have, and now we're going to have updated some of the things that they always have wanted.”
Rosalind Moore
Butler-Gast YMCA member
“Goosebumps … It's just going to be so unique, overwhelming to see the lights across the street from the school, knowing that our community and parents didn't have to drive very far to come watch our kids play, and our kids are just going to be so overwhelmed by the opportunity.”
Larry Martin
North High football coach
“A new stadium for North is going to be a game changer for our program. It's going to allow us to have access to better practice facilities, as well as hosting events and hosting other schools.”
Amber Bock
North High band director
